Business Connectivity Services:

Business Connectivity Services (Formerly known as Business Data Catalogs in Sharepoint 2007) is a service application that provides external data source from external back-end systems to Sharepoint. These external datas can easily be displayed or updated in Sharepoint. It is also used to get any type of reports and KPIs.

InfoPath Forms Services:

This service application hosts the digital forms designed in Microsoft InfoPath Designer and can use it to store form data or can attach to a workflow running on Sharepoint. InfoPath Form Services enables users to fill or display the forms via a web browser.

Social Computing and Collaboration:

Social Computing and Collaboration features provides a social environment for Sharepoint users by profile pages, blogs, WIKIs and people search. Users can update their profile info, write blog or WIKI and share their interests or knowledge to other users. Users can also have their own space to store their documents and share them to other users with read or write permissions.

Publishing Sites:

Publishing sites feature enables to create rich contented and designable web pages. By using this feature an enterprise internet portal with a powerful content management system can be created and designed. With Edit-In-Place technology pages can be edited while just browsing the pages on a browser with “what you see is what you get” content editor. Pages can be checked out for editing to prevent any update conflicts and checked-in or published for other users and people to see it. Also workflows can be attached to the pages.

Workflows:

Business process can be organized sequentially in Sharepoint. With lots of actions, each step of the process can be managed, tasks can be assigned, responsible people can be alerted and all these process can be monitored. Workflow tasks and completed actions are stored as workflow history so any demanded report can be generated.

Document Management:

Document management features allows users to store their documents in Sharepoint. These documents can be edited or displayed, security policies can be applied. Documents can be checked out while updating to prevent any other unwanted updates. After updating document can be published, checked in or saved as a draft. Versioning allows to track the changes on document. Workflows also can run attached to a document.

Managed Metadatas:

Managed metadatas are centrally stored keyword whıch can be used as a metadata to any item or document in sharepoint. With an auto-complete text box, contributors can easily use these stored and managed metadatas without the risk of misspelling or duplicating while attaching keywords to an item.

Search Services:

Search service crawls and indexes the Sharepoint web site or any other external data and produce search results for the user’s query. Crawler can be scheduled to crawl for keeping the indexed data updated. Search service also provides many options to refine the results to find the required source easily and rapidly.

Sandboxed Solutions:

Sandboxed solutions are manitorable and secure solutions run on Sharepoint. Custom third party solutions can be allowed to run on your sharepoint site as sandboxed securely with performance controls in site collection level.
